Daycare Routine
Here at Dak Dogs, our top priority is safety! We want to ensure that your pup can have a balance of rest and play so they leave here feeling fulfilled. We have taken the last year to create a schedule that flows best for the dogs and their pet owners. Each dog in our care receives a tailored experience to their play style, size, social preferences, and energy levels. All dogs get to enjoy small group play with their best friends, mixed with some reflection time to wind down and relax in between play sessions. With that being said, our daycare routine is as follows:
Daycare drop off is from 7am to 9am. During the drop off window, dogs will be brought outside for a potty break upon arrival and then placed in one of our 5ft X 5ft kennels until group play starts at 9am. We would like to ensure all daycare pups get our undivided attention when they arrive.

Once all the daycare pups are here, we will evaluate which pups are properly matched for each other's play styles and mix them in separate play groups accordingly. This is to ensure all the dogs get to play with the dogs they like best! The play groups will be rotated in and out of the holding kennels during the morning session from 9am to 12pm. All pups will be given a balance of rest and play so they do not get overstimulated or overtired. This reduces chances of conflict and injury during their stay.

From 12pm to 1pm, all pups will be placed in the holding kennels for nap and snack time. Morning session dogs can be picked up and afternoon session dogs can be dropped off during this time.

Afternoon session starts at 1pm and runs until 5pm. We will use the same routine as the morning session with all the pups. All pups will be rotated in and out of group play with their properly matched playmates for the day. Our pickup window for the afternoon session is from 3pm to 5pm.
Day Boarding Services
Are you traveling for the day or need coverage for a pup that does not thrive in group play? We are now offering individual day boarding services! In day boarding, your pup will be in our temperature controlled daycare room around the other dogs but will stay in a 5ft X 5ft kennel with water and a pet bed. Your pup will be provided with breaks to run around the daycare yard solo every hour for some exercise.
Our day boarding rates are the same as daycare rates listed above.

Convenient Location
Dak Dogs is located off of Route 9 and we are only minutes from Exit 32 off the Adirondack Northway in Lewis.
Food Policy
If your pet needs a meal during daycare, you will need to bring their food with them. We will not be keeping food on hand. Should you forget to bring their food, your pet will be given treats throughout the day with your approval.
Daycare Introductions
All new daycare clients will need to schedule an introduction for their pup. They will need to arrive before all the other daycare participants arrive so they can slowly be introduced to the group. This is to ensure your pup does not get overwhelmed and to see how they do with each of the daycare participants. Your pup will be on a trial period for their first few sessions to see if daycare is a good fit for them.
